I was gone for the end of our fiscal year, and upon returning found that our deficit in was reduced from almost $50k to $18k by the end of the fiscal year. Thank you for your generosity! I am working on some ideas for boosting revenue, and am open to suggestions as our expenses continue to rise, as are yours, with inflation. Please, please get your pictures into the Parish Pictorial Directory! When we have new parishioners, when I was a new pastor here, when we have a new staff person, these pictures are invaluable. Russ Schuster has done a great job organizing the effort, and we are about done taking pictures, so please take advantage of this opportunity. Things are getting busy here as the school year approaches. It will be good to have the energy and activity the children bring with them. Forming our children to be excellent students, citizens, and most of all Christians holds a high priority. May the Lord bless us, our staff, and our children this school year! The picture you see is my office door. I stepped out for an hour and when I returned, the door was covered by notes from the children in our Vacation Bible School. It is just one of the many perks of my job – children often do something endearing like this, expressing appreciation for my being their priest or pastor here. You can see why it is so easy to say, “It is a joy to be your pastor.”
