Jolaine Zweifel has been organizing the parish library, consulting on how to make the office more efficient, and designing the vestibule space beautifully for the last few years. She has done a wonderful job, and is stepping down from that volunteer position to work in CGS, another area of the parish. We want to thank her for her generosity and thoughtfulness in stepping up and organizing so many things in the office, and just for creating beautiful displays. We are blessed with SO MANY parishioners who bring their talents, experience, expertise and energy to make the parish a more vibrant, beautiful, and efficient place. We are truly blessed in our parishioners. THANK YOU! The PTO Golf Tournament was a great success, raising almost $13K for the school – a new record for this event under the leadership of Deacon Mike Casteel. Thanks to him for organizing the event and to all who worked on the fund raiser. Among the notable events that happened that day was a hole-in-one by our parishioner, Scott Walk. One of his playing partners approached me after the tournament explaining how his hole-in-one was a miracle. He suggested that it proved the existence of God – it certainly was not Scott’s skill. I guess you could say the same thing about my hole-in-one. At any rate, congratulations to Scott and to all those who enjoyed the day! This year we are pairing the ACA (Annual Catholic Appeal) with our own Annual Stewardship Renewal. The two drives will happen together beginning in mid-October. This will be simpler than having the ACA drive in the fall and then another parish pledge drive in the spring. We have not done the pledge drive for a couple of years because of COVID, but are looking to do it this new way this year. Thank you for your patience with my Hay Fever attacks this last half of August. I am now officially praying for a hard freeze. I have tested for COVID to make sure that it was not the cause of my symptoms, and have so far tested negative. This is the normal time of year for me to have Hay Fever, so it is familiar, even if it is stronger this year than in past years, probably due to all the rain we have had over the summer in the area. May God bless you all as we move into the Fall season of the year. I consider it a blessing to be your pastor.
